Our client is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty construction vehicles. They specialize in mounting industry specific attachments to their vehicles for increased adaptability in pipeline, construction, utility, mining, drilling and more. 

Role 

The Director of Manufacturing oversees the management of all areas of manufacturing including engineering, supply chain, and production to produce products on schedule within the quality standards established and cost objectives set by the company. 

Job Functions 

  • Hands-on manager who can lead, manage and direct all facets of the following divisions:
  • Engineering
  • Quality
  • Production
  • Inventory and Warehouse
  • Purchasing 

Responsibilities 

  • Assume full P & L responsibility for each department managed
  • Develop processes and recommend changes to improve productivity and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Play an active role within the company leadership team in the development and formulation of long and short-term planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Manage manufacturing and 3rd party budget and control expenses.
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead to meet with annual operating budget.
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan.
  • Act as a liaison between direct report department managers and communicate effectively within the leadership team.
  • Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between the company and its manufacturing partners.
  • Direct and coordinate various programs critical to manufacturing procedures including training, safety, cost reduction and employee involvement.
  • Hire, train and develop team members by providing ongoing mentorship and appraisal.
  • 6 + years’ experience with manufacturing, supply chain, 3rd partner vendor management, purchasing, ordering, and maintaining a schedule
  • Hands-on leader & worker
  • Leadership style – roll up the sleeves and get stuff done!
  • Experience managing 3+ direct reports
  • Experience with MRP/ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
