In this role, you will have oversight and participation in all functions of day to day operations for a steel processing plant from receiving through shipping, while maximizing profits and safety. Report to a dynamic, young VP, with strong visions for the company’ s future and growth.

Responsibilities:
Guard, protect and make decisions based on what is best for the company in an effort to meet company goals and objectives.
Oversee day to day activities of the manufacturing and processing operation.
Direct, motivate, coach and teach Production and Maintenance Managers.
Maintain and enforce all policies consistently from case to case.
Maintain the safety program.
Work with the current Worker Compensation carrier.
Work to eliminated reoccurring errors, problems and failures.
Seek and pursue opportunities that result in greater efficiency, safety improvements and reduced cost.

Requirements:
Bachelor’ s Degree is desirable.
3-5 years’ experience in supervising or managing a manufacturing plant operation is required.
Familiarity with steel coil processing, packaging and coil handling equipment is a plus.
Engineering knowledge is a strong plus. Formal engineering education is desirable.
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systems is essential.
Effective communicator with good people skills.
Good Computer skills.
Thorough understanding of the process.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting.
Ability to understand and comply with the terms of the Labor Agreement.
Basic understanding of applicable labor law, OSHA standards and safety practices.
Ability to create, maintain and enforce fair and effective work rules.
Ability to maintain and motivate an effective work force.
