We are recruiting a dynamic, business-oriented, Human Resources Director for our growing Midwest manufacturing client in the Countryside area. As a key member of the Executive Management Team, you will provide strategic leadership to the CEO, Corporate Executives and Plant Managers on policies that impact the business and Corporate strategy. Regular, on-going interactions with Plant Management Teams. In this challenging, newly created, hands-on role, you will build upon the existing, rudimentary HR function, further develop the infrastructure, establish HR Department roles, processes and reporting structures to ensure functionality and compliance. Requirements:
  • Thought leader experienced in shaping solutions; strong communication and collaborative partnership skills
  • Experienced in all facets of human resources: legal compliance, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, performance management, coaching, development and business strategy
  • 10-12 years of Human Resources experience in a generalist role
  • 5+ years of recent Manufacturing experience which includes Union Avoidance,
  • 2+ years of Plant HR Management operating with a plant with direct reports, up to HR Managers
  • Bachelor’ s Degree required, MBA preferred
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is desirable
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and execute HR policies, services and programs, employment practices and procedures to ensure legal compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Manage the small and growing HR team at the Corporate Office and Plants including Plant HR Managers
  • Build strategies to attract, recruit and retain top talent to align with corporate goals
  • Create social media HR business strategies to increase awareness and visibility of company careers
  • Provide counsel in the design and implementation of new organizational structures and processes to help increase overall organizational effectiveness. Partner with Managers and Supervisors to implement regular Talent Reviews, Organization Reviews, Performance Reviews, Employee Engagement assessments and surveys, etc.
  • Develop strategies to identify targeted development needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver training to Corporate and Plant personnel, Managers and Supervisors.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach, engage, develop and / or discipline employees
  • Improve employee engagement and morale by tracking trends and assessing employee behaviors and attitudes. Develop action plans and coach leaders in performance management areas.
